The Whole

The Whole – a whole new kind of community

What does it mean to be part of a faith community? We have seen the urgency of this question increase over the last few years. Many cannot continue in the traditional gatherings they grew up in. For some it is about the content. Dogmatic certainty can no longer contain the largeness of an ever growing mystery. For others it is the format that has grown old and stale. Online communities have great potential but there is something irreplaceable about face to face encounters. The Whole aims to make the most of both technology and connecting actual physical communities by providing an online experience every two weeks and providing assistance to host a physical meeting in the week between.

These meetings will be available freely/donation-based. The content will be a similar flavor to the content of Mimesis Academy. And participants will be encouraged to read a book monthly to focus discussions. More information will follow in the coming weeks.

(The name is inspired by Charles Hartshorn who showed that the distinction between God and creatures Is not the distinction between infinite and finite but between the whole and the fragmentary.)
