Embering – One line, kept glowing.
Hi friends
For years now, you’ve let a piece of writing land in your inbox each week. Some of those lines stayed with you for an afternoon, but most of it faded after a few days.
That’s not your fault, and it isn’t ours either. It’s what a feed does: it moves. A thought worth living with arrives in the same stream as everything else, gets read once, and is gone.
So we built something with the opposite shape.
Embering serves you one line a day.
One. It’s there when you wake, on a widget on your home screen (and on the iPhone lock screen), with no feed, no scroll, and nothing else to read. Through the day it comes back and asks, gently, whether you still have it. By evening, if the line moved you, one tap opens the writing it came from.
That’s the whole app. It is deliberately, almost stubbornly quiet.
You choose up to three voices to accompany you. Ours are there, along with poetry and scripture, and Embering cycles between them. You never pick the quote. That’s the point: the choosing is what turns reading into skimming.
Because you’re here at the start, you’re a Founding Reader.
The full practice (the memory coach, your own lines in the rotation, every widget style) is yours free, for life. Not a trial, not an introductory rate. Readers who find Embering later will subscribe for it. You never will, on any device, for as long as you use the app.
No account. No sign-up. No email to hand over, nothing to cancel. Open the app, tap once to claim it, and it’s yours.
Claim it by 16 October.
Free to install, on iPhone and Android.
One line. Kept glowing.
André & Mary-Anne
P.S. Claim it in the app the first time you open it. That’s what lets us recognise you if you ever change phones. It takes one tap and costs nothing.
